These pages are intended to help you if you are a teacher or conductor concerned to have a healthy boys' section in your choir.  The main focus is on the 11 - 14 age group - the time when so many boys are lost to singing because people simply don't know what to do about voice change.

The repertoire page deals with the most frequently asked FAQ of all - what repertoire motivates 11 - 14 year old boys?   The range page deals with absolutely essential stuff you need to know about how to match boys' voices to the pitch and range in which they will achieve success and enjoy their singing. Newly introduced and to be developed over the next couple of years is the composers' and arrangers' co-operative.  Do you enjoy composing and arranging?  Do you understand the specific requirements for writing for 11 - 14 year old boys, or would you like to learn more about this?  Have you arrangements to share or would you like to borrow arrangements that have worked from others?  These pages are for you.

The magazine pages contain material that reflects the work of teachers and conductors who are successful in motivating boys to sing and willing to share their knowledge via the BKS network. You are welcome to join this network which is still live.  It will be developed as an on-line practitioner journal and incorporated into this website when it is relaunched  For the present, you need to contact me for the access code.
